50th Reunion Postponed Again & 70th Birthday Party

Fellow 1970 Classmates,

It is with deep regret we announce yet another postponement of our 50th Class Reunion.  The reunion venue, Michigan State University, has announced mask restrictions will continue throughout 2022.  The mask requirement will be strictly enforced; anyone not complying will be asked to leave.  As a result, we would not be able to have the type of festivities we planned.  The new dates for the reunion are AUGUST 11-12, 2023.

There is good news for 2022!  We decided to throw an informal 70th birthday party in addition to the 2023 reunion.  Mark your calendar for SATURDAY, AUGUST 13, 2022 for the Class of '70 Turns 70 Birthday Party (stay tuned for further information.)

Yes, unfortunately the amazing reunion celebration we planned is postponed until 2023.  This celebration will be well worth the wait.  The planning committees of both 1970 and 1971 are in agreement, this will be a once in a lifetime extravaganza.

Friday, August 11, 2023, will be the dinner and program held at the Kellogg Center.  For those who reserved rooms at Kellogg Center, those reservations will again be transferred to 2023.

Saturday, August 12, 2023, will be our chance to really celebrate at the Breslin Center.  The bands that have been kept secret should make you jump at the chance to join us and revel in the music of our youth.  Ready??

The opening band is THREE DOG NIGHT!!  Oh yeah...CELEBRATE, BLACK AND WHITE, JOY TO THE WORLD, MAMA TOLD ME...you get the idea.  And then...hold your hats, the music that had the gym floors bouncing at Sexton...the headliner is the TEMPTATIONS!  Can it get any better than that?  No, it's not JUST MY IMAGINATION.  So, GET READY, it will be Motown revisited and rocking just for us!  This is the WAY WE DO THE THINGS WE DO.  Big Reds forever.

We are as disappointed as you must be that we have to wait another year for our 50th reunion turned EXTRAVAGANT PARTY.  If you registered for the 2021/22 reunion, you will be automatically registered for 2023.  If you find that you won't be able to attend the 2023 events, you have two choices.  First, consider your money paid as a donation to your class treasury.  Second, if you want a refund, please contact one of the class committee members.  If you're feeling a BALL OF CONFUSION, don't!  This will be the place to be in twenty-three!

The class website (www.jwsexton70.com) will continue to be available for classmates to create profiles before reunion registration reopens in the future.
